I love following you guys on Twitter, which is how I came across all of these articles, and they’re normally right on the money, but this one really struck a chord with me because there are plenty of weight loss plans that don’t have warnings for short term use. And coming from a woman who has tried them all, sometimes experience speaks volumes. I once used a personal trainer who was convinced I needed to see a nutritionist, and when I finally scheduled my appointment with her, she sent me home with a note to my personal trainer essentially telling him he was crazy for thinking I didn’t have a handle on healthy eating.

You can have any fruit in the morning! As for the calories, I’m not sure I understand your question… You can calculate an estimate of your daily requirements and split it up into 5-6 meals, making you eat right after working out!

Hey Stephanie. I understand, the reason why for some meals I provide examples is for you to be able to make your own modifications depending on your preferences, it gives you some guidelines and more options. Meal 4 for examples gives you just a few options that you can chose from but I believe that it’s enough for a 7 day meal plan.

You can switch up the order of the meals, so for example you can have apples or carrots with hummus or natural nut butter or a shake as you mentioned. Also, you can wait until the 3rd meal if it’ really not convenient and have a slightly larger meal then. 🙂

Americans spend more than $60 billion each year on weight loss products, a number that may not be surprising considering almost 70 percent of adults living in the United States are overweight or obese. Many Americans have turned to weight loss programs, branded diets and supplements to help them shed unwanted weight.

You may lose the weight you want, and lose it fast, but as soon as you go back to eating your normal foods in the normal amounts, you’ll regain all the weight you’ve lost, and in some cases add on an extra few pounds.

“There are many foods that aid weight loss, but one that I often recommend to my clients and eat myself is grapefruit. Researchers at Scripps Clinic in San Diego found that when obese people ate half a grapefruit before each meal, they dropped an average of 3.5 pounds over 12 weeks. Apparently, the tangy fruit can lower insulin, a fat-storage hormone, and that can lead to weight loss. Plus, since it’s at least 90% water, it can fill you up so you eat less. However, if you are on certain medications you should not have grapefruit or grapefruit juice, so check the label on all your prescriptions, or ask your pharmacist or doctor. — Patricia Bannan, MS, RDN, author of  Eat Right When Time is Tight.
