Your muscle-building phase should be followed by a two-week fat-loss phase. During this week you want to cut out any processed foods from your nutrition program. This includes all shakes and protein bars. The focus here is on low-sodium natural foods like chicken breast, lean steak, white fish, egg whites, dark green leafy vegetables, oatmeal, yam and brown rice.
We are glad you have made your health as a priority and we are more than happy to help. To start with, there can’t be a general diet plan because your body composition, your schedule, and most importantly your taste will differ. The one given in the blog is a general diet plan and you can follow it too.
“Lifting heavy weights is the best way to increase your metabolism, sustain long-term muscle growth and stay lean. If you’re doing more than ten reps with ease, your weight probably isn’t heavy enough, so vary your reps and consistently increase the amount you’re lifting” — Dustin Hassard, NCSF, Head Coach, Modern Athletics
It’s a very nice article. I am 25 years old, my weight is 75kg and height is 158 cm. Will this diet plan help me into weight loss and how long I need to follow this diet? What should be the exact weight of mine according to my weight, height and age?
Hi, so sorry if this has already been asked, but I was wondering how long these foods usually keep in the fridge? I see most people do it the Tupperware way, preparing for the week ahead so I was wondering if you cook up all the meats etc straight away and store them for the whole week or usually just a few days ahead to keep it fresh? I’d love to just make them all up together to save time if they stay fresh most the week 🙂
When combined together to form polymers, carbohydrates can function as long-term food storage molecules, as protective membranes for organisms and cells, and as the main structural support for plants and constituents of many cells and their contents.
Protein intake should be a minimum of 180 grams per day. If you are a bigger guy, or have a fair amount of muscle mass, then eat 200 to 220 grams of protein per day. If you eat a little more protein the drop your daily fat intake to make up for the calories.
If you boil the potatoes, then allow them to cool for a while, then they will form large amounts of resistant starch, a fiber-like substance that has been shown to have all sorts of health benefits… including weight loss (22).
Take Vitamin C supplements. If you are not able to get enough Vitamin C through food, taking a Vitamin C supplement can help manage the cortisol in your blood and regulate the effects of stress on your body.
Most Americans get enough protein but could choose to get it from leaner sources, so you may already have plenty in your diet. Your exact protein needs depend on your age, gender, and how active you are.
Slow-twitch fibers also recover faster between sets than fast-twitch fibers. This will make it possible for adherence to using shorter rest intervals, and keep the heart rate up throughout the workout; hence burning more fat.
If you’re constantly find yourself thinking, “I have nothing to eat” or “I don’t know what to make,” preparing a menu is for you. Similarly, many diets may give you a plan in the but then ask you to repeat the menu. Most of us like variety so it might be time to create your own menu.
The 7-day shredding meal plan can serve you as a great guideline, however, I do recommend personalizing it depending on your own goals. For example, you can use an online calorie calculator and protein calculator to make sure that you are getting all the energy and nutrients that you need. As you know, we all come in different shapes and sizes and our goals are not identical. Once you know what your body needs to perform optimally and to get the best results you can make the proper adjustments. For example, I myself need to eat approximately 2100 calories per day to support my daily activity and workouts and to build strong muscles… not that a random calculator will give you the straight answer but with trial and error you can find the perfect fit for yourself. Hope this answers your question.
It can be difficult to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle if you don’t have adequate social support. Some weight loss programs offer in-person support group meetings, others offer one-on-one counseling via telephone or text messaging and still others use online message boards or forums to connect you with others using the plan. Corresponding with like-minded people can make your fat-loss journey easier and more productive, but what level of accountability and interaction do you want or need?
Oleic acid, a compound in avocados’ healthy monounsaturated fats (MUFAs), may trigger your body to actually quiet hunger. Stick to a quarter or a half of an avocado and watch that belly fat melt away. The creamy fruit is also packed with fiber and protein.
Hello! Just started doing this yesterday, and I am eating 1,200 – 1,400 calories per day (did the calorie calculator). How long can I stay on this? I’m really trying to make an overall lifestyle change, and this seems to be a great way of clean eating. So would it be okay to do this for awhile? Thanks so much!
The majority of this carb intake should typically come from unprocessed nutrient-rich sources (rice, potatoes, vegetables, fruits, oats, whole grains, etc.). Highly refined junk should be limited to some extent.

I used to think eating fish meant eating salmon or some other expensive fish that needed to be cooked. I would add in some tuna for lunches and that would help. One night I was watching Alton Brown discuss his diet success and he mentioned eating sardines or other canned versions of fish. You may try these options to see if they help.

On weekends, she plans to walk for 60 minutes one day and spend one hour gardening the next day for even greater calorie burning. If walking for 60 minutes is too much, two 30-minute walks one day would burn the same number of calories.
Provided you manage your blood glucose levels and account for the calories you consume from carbohydrate, there is no reason to exclude them. On a side note, you must account for the carbohydrate calories you use to treat hypoglycaemia. This may vary from day to day.
“Researchers around the world say what really works is not just cutting calories but satisfying your hunger with the right kinds of foods,” says Health’s Frances Largeman-Roth, RD. In fact, women following a low-fat diet who were allowed to fill up on all the fruit and vegetables they wanted lost 23% more weight than women on a low-fat diet alone, a new study from the United Kingdom reports.
“Eating directly out of a box or bag (almost always leads to overeating. Serve your food on a plate or in a bowl to keep portion sizes in check and to get used to what one serving looks like. Also, when we take the time to sit down during meals versus standing or driving, we tend to feel more satisfied with our meal. In fact, research shows that you will eat up to 30% more food at the next meal if you ate standing up! Serve yourself, sit down, and enjoy!” — Jennifer McDaniel, MS, RDN, CSSD, LD, food and nutrition expert
